Bandit and Betty White - The Bald Eagle Family
In January of 2016 a Bald Eagle family chose a most unusual setting to build their home. A North Scottsdale golf resort was where they would spend the next five months of their life--building a home, building a family and enjoying the good life! Not really so surprising when you think about their choice--this IS Scottsdale! Green, rolling hills, fish-filled golf and community lakes--but, all those golfers, bikers, runners, and photographers? Bandit and Betty White, as they came to be known, really seemed comfortable with their neighbors! In fact, they gave new meaning to the golf term "double eagle" as they introduced us to their two young eaglets! The first page here is some of my personal favorites from this adventure, followed by a somewhat chronological order from nest building to the rescue of both birds--that joined the ranks of Arizona's "banded" Bald Eagles as D-33 and H-33. Both had their time of falling from the nest, only to be rescued by Liberty Wildlife and returned to the nest--or nest area by Arizona Game and Fish! Both birds successfully fledged and are now flying the friendly skies of North Scottsdale. Back to the Wild! We can only hope for their return next year--and the adventure continues!
